Child Friendly Gites

Searching for child friendly gites in a family friendly environment? As parents we know how important it is to keep your children safe on holiday. Gîte properties are generally rural and usually old converted farm buildings or stables offering much charm and character in a quiet setting - La Vieille Source is no exception.

Gites by their very nature are not padded cells. Because we have two young children and understand parent’s concerns when bringing little ones away from home we decided to have La Vieille Source assessed by an independent body with Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) specialist training.  Having taken their advice, and implemented their recommended safety measures, we’re pleased to be able to offer parents a more child friendly gite environment for extra peace of mind, whilst still retaining the charm and tradition of an old French gite.

Our aim is to offer all families with young children the necessities that we take for granted at home, which is where our fantastic Baby & Toddler Pack comes in. It has heaps of useful stuff that you would normally have at home but rarely find in a holiday property. The Baby & Toddler Pack is free of charge so why don't you have a look to see what's included. It’s so reassuring to know that after a long journey most of the items you may need for your baby will be ready and waiting for you on arrival. We’re confident that our child friendly gite will give your children the extra security, as well as the useful equipment, to ensure a worry free holiday and also save you valuable packing space. We can even ensure that there’s fresh milk in the fridge on your arrival. We offer a free shopping service to help get your holiday off to a good start, so there’s no need to haul stacks of nappies and wipes or jars of food along. Bringing your tots to France will be easier than you imagined and give you that family friendly holiday experience in France that you’ve been searching for.

For older children there’s plenty to do at the gite or in the surrounding area. There are lovely gardens to run around and explore, a wooden adventure play set with swings, slide, climbing wall, picnic seat and play fort. The huge trampoline can be used by all ages with the easy climb trampoline ladder. Parents can relax under the cherry tree on the swing seat and watch them bounce safely in the net enclosure. The solar heated pool is always popular for those who can swim or for budding little learners. For the more enthusiastic there’s swing ball, badminton and other outdoor games. Teens will be pleased to hear we offer a free Wi-Fi connection if you bring your own laptop and we've a good mobile phone signal too. There's a DVD player, video and the English satellite TV has plenty of popular children’s channels.

Nearby you’ll find pony rides, go carting, a lake with water slides and a sandy beach, a sky park with fantastic 'high wire' tree climbing and the famous Walibi theme park with water rides, roller coasters and special attractions to suit all ages. How about taking a picnic and canoeing through the Averyon gorges, or a boat trip on the river Baise? You'll find plenty of useful information leaflets at the gite together with suggestions for tried and tested family days out.
